“Both Diploma and Certificate III provide you the knowledge and skills required by child care workers across a range of early childhood
education settings,” said General Manager, Michelle Brunton. “But there are some differences.”

Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Certificate III enables students to implement an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. It also imparts the skills to allow them to work autonomously or under direct supervision.

CHC30113 consists of 15 core and 3 elective units and a student successfully completing the course can work as a child care assistant, playgroup supervisor, family day care worker, child care worker, or nanny. It also opens up many other employment opportunities in the care sector.

Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Students who complete the diploma classes are able to implement an approved learning framework and are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. They also acquire the skills to supervise other staff or volunteers.

To acquire the diploma, students have to learn 23 core units. There are also 7 elective units. A diploma allows the students to work as an authorized supervisor, children’s services coordinator, child care worker, children’s adviser or child development worker, among others.

Fees and Delivery

The course fee for Certificate III starts from $2,267 and for Diploma, from $6,450.

Both courses are offered as both full time and part time either on campus or through our blended learning model. Students opting for the blending learning model will receive course materials to work through at their own pace.

“But they will be required to attend a few practical training seminars and will have the opportunity to experience real life situations through work placement,” added Michelle Brunton.
