About this course
The Certificate III in Individual Support provides you with the qualifications and expertise to work in the growing disability industry. You will learn the necessary skills and knowledge to care for the needs of older people, support their health and wellbeing and work with their individualised plans.

Entry Requirements
The following entry requirements need to be met prior to course commencement:
- Must be over the age of 18 years at the time of course induction
- Must be able to participate in 120 hours of work placement
- Ability to gain a clean police clearance
- Complete all enrolment processes as per the Enable College enrolment policy and procedure
- Students must have access to a computer, email, and internet
Fee for Service Students
- Meet LLN requirements by completing Enable College LLN test
- Complete a Verbal Assessment (see Verbal Assessment Policy and Procedure – FFS)
Eligible Subsidised Students
- Complete CSPA assessment and the Upfront Assessment of Need (Eligible subsidised students) process
- Attend suitability interview – see Enable College Suitability and Support Needs Checklist and Verbal Assessment Policy and Procedure (Eligible subsidised students)

Study Pathways
The Community Services Training Package promote continued development of workers through attainment of higher level qualifications. Pathways can go via both the Vocational and Higher Education sectors. Students can pathway into courses such as Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate IV in Ageing Support and Diploma of Nursing.

Recognition of prior learning
If you have existing knowledge or skills relating to the requirements of this course you can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL). RPL may be granted for knowledge or skills obtained through prior education, training, work and life experiences.
RPL fees are $200.00
Credit Transfer
If the student has a prior Qualification or a Statement of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework from any state or territory, the RTO will automatically give exemptions for those units of competency provided they are current. Credit transfer will be provided on the student record.

Delivery
This course is offered as both full-time (20-25 study hours per week) and part-time (15 study hours per week) either on campus or through our blended learning model.
Through our blended learning model, you will receive course materials to work through at your own pace as well as attend practical training seminars as required As part of this course, you will also have the opportunity to experience real life situations through work placement.
Optional study tutorials are available every Wednesday evening. Friday morning, and on arrangement with the trainer that is assigned to support the student. The assessment due date is one every 2 weeks for a full-time student and one assessment per month for a part-time student.
