The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care equips you with the necessary skills required to work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. This qualification supports children’s wellbeing and development within an approved learning framework.

This qualification unlocks many different career choices by providing you with relevant skills and expertise and as a result, enables you to work within a range of early childhood education settings. This course is also a stepping stone to further Diploma and Bachelor qualifications in Children’s Services.

Recognition of prior learning

If you have existing knowledge or skills relating to the requirements of this course you can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL). RPL may be granted for knowledge or skills obtained through prior education, training, work and life experiences.

RPL fees start from $500 per unit.

Credit Transfer

If the student has a prior Qualification or a Statement of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework from any state or territory, the RTO will automatically give exemptions for those units of competency provided they are current. Credit transfer will be provided on the student record.

Delivery

This course is available through our blended learning model and can be completed either full time or part time. The stated hours refer to the structured face-to-face classroom component. In addition, students are required to complete online learning and assessments activities, which can be undertaken at a pace that fits their schedule. Depending on their level of engagement and study commitment, most students complete the course within 6 – 12 months.

As part of the course, students will have the opportunity apply and further develop their skills and knowledge in real-world situations through a dedicated work placement component, providing valuable practical experience within the industry.

Optional study tutorials are available on arrangement with the trainer that is assigned to support our students.   

While flexible progress is supported throughout the course, please be aware that submission deadlines apply to help you remain on track and successfully complete your studies. Your trainer will provide detailed information about these deadlines at the commencement of your course.

Whichever delivery method you choose, our experienced trainers will support you every step of the way.

 

This course is also a stepping stone to further qualifications in child services, including the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Important: There is a non refundable $250.00 enrolment fee. A re-enrolment fee of $150 is to be paid from the first month after your enrolment period ends (12 months for certificate III’s) and every 3 months thereafter.

Entry Requirements

The following entry requirements need to be met prior to course commencement:

  • Must be over the age of 18 years at the time of course induction
  • Must be able to participate in 160 hours of work placement
  • Ability to gain clean Working with Children check clearances
  • Complete level 1 and 2 of Child Safety Training
  • Must be able to source and undertake work placement
  • Complete all enrolment processes as per the Enable College enrolment policy and procedure
  • Students must have access to a computer, email, and internet

Fee for Service Students

  • Meet LLN requirements by completing Enable College LLN test
  • Complete a Verbal Assessment (see Verbal Assessment Policy and Procedure – FFS)

Eligible Subsidised Students

  • Complete CSPA assessment and Upfront Assessment of Need (Eligible subsidised students) process
  • Attend suitability interview – see Enable College Suitability and Support Needs Checklist and Verbal Assessment Policy and Procedure (Eligible subsidised students)
