The Certificate III in Individual Support provides you with the qualifications and expertise to work in the growing care industry. You will learn the necessary skills and knowledge to care for the needs of people, support their health and wellbeing and work with their individualised plans.

Important: The above course fees include a $150 non-refundable enrolment. A re-enrolment fee of $150 applies for students who do not complete within 6 months for Full Time course and 12 months for the Part Time course. |
Entry Requirements
The following entry requirements need to be met prior to course commencement:
- Must be over the age of 18 years at the time of course induction
- Must hold a current Driver’s licence
- Must be able to participate in 120 hours of work placement
- Ability to gain clean Police and DHS clearances
- Must be able to source and undertake work placement
- Complete all enrolment processes as per the Enable College enrolment policy and procedure
- Students must have access to a computer, email, and internet
- Students must have a level of physical fitness to work within the Disability industry.
Fee for Service Students
- Meet LLN requirements by completing Enable College LLN test
- Complete a Verbal Assessment (see Verbal Assessment Policy and Procedure – FFS)
Eligible Subsidised Students
- Complete CSPA assessment and Upfront Assessment of Need (Eligible subsidised students) process
- Attend suitability interview – see Enable College Suitability and Support Needs Checklist and Verbal Assessment Policy and Procedure (Eligible subsidised students)

Study Pathways
The Community Services Training Package promotes continued development of workers through attainment of higher-level qualifications. Pathways can go via both the Vocational and Higher Education sectors. Students can pathway into courses such as Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate IV in Ageing Support and Diploma of Nursing.

Recognition of prior learning
If you have existing knowledge or skills relating to the requirements of this course you can apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL). RPL may be granted for knowledge or skills obtained through prior education, training, work and life experiences.
RPL Fees start at $500.00 per unit.
Credit Transfer
If the student has a prior Qualification or a Statement of Attainment issued under the Australian Qualifications Framework from any state or territory, the RTO will automatically give exemptions for those units of competency provided they are current. Credit transfer will be provided on the student record.

Delivery
This course is offered as both full time (40 study hours per week) and part-time (15 study hours per week) on campus or through our blended learning model.
As part of this course, you will be required to attend and complete the theory and practical sessions as well as complete the 120 hour work placement.
Study support sessions are available every Wednesday from 9.30am – 4pm at the Enable College city campus (Level 2, 47 South Tce, Adelaide SA 5000) where a Trainer will be available to provide assessment support.
Assessment due date will be provided for each assessment, as instructed by your Trainer. Remember, our experienced Trainers are here to support you every step of the way.
